Memorial Weekend in Park City

This last Memorial Day weekend, we spent with my family in Park City at Silver Star Resort. It was cold but a lot of fun! We went swimming at the rec center in Kamas. We went to see Shrek Forever and then road the bus up to Main Street to go to dinner at the Red Banjo for pizza. We road bikes and scooters, hot tubbed, roasted marshmallows and made smores in the fire pits, the boys golfed, the kids swam at the resort pool, and my favorite was a game of kickball with the whole family out on the courtyard. We had a great time and it was nice to get away.

Madelyn's Preschool Graduation

Madelyn finished her first year of preschool, loving every moment of it. Her teacher Miss Dawn is fabulous and Madelyn worships the ground she walks on. She put on this little preschool graduation where all the parents and family came and watched as they promenaded to the graduation music out to their seats and put on a little program for us. It was super cute! Madelyn, Mom and Dad are so proud of you, great work this year!

I ran today in the Habitat for Humanity 5K Run. It was a lot of fun and for a great cause. I came in 2nd place overall for females and would have taken 1st place in my age category, however the only girl that beat me to the finish line was 16 and the category was 16-29...I'm 30 in 4 weeks, bummer. I would have walked away with a $50 gift card to Target. I had a good time though and felt good about my time and finish.

Last Minute Trip to Vegas

Our friends, the Petersons called us to see if we wanted to get away for a few days to warmer weather and go to Las Vegas. We're usually not very spontaneous, but we decided it sounded fun and that we would go. We drove down on Tuesday, and fortunately didn't have to stop once. The kids did great! We checked in to our favorite place for families down there, Tahiti Village, and then headed to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe in the MGM. The kids had a great time! The next day we spent at the pool and the lazy river. It was 93 degrees and perfect! The kids were so happy with the sand beach entry pool and floating in their tubes on the lazy river. Life doesn't get much better than that. We hit Jason's Deli for lunch...mmm. Then spent more time at the pool until we were sunburned and worn out. We then went to dinner way too late that night at an international buffet at the South Point Hotel, which our kids were horrible at and the food was average. Then headed back to our hotel and crashed. The next morning we headed out and back home. It was quick, but relaxing and fun and just what we needed to re energize. Thanks Petersons, we had a blast! Here are a few photos.
