Well the other night we attempted to make a gingerbread house with Madelyn. Let's just say it didn't go as planned. Two hours later it was only a house standing with no candy on it and it's still sitting undecorated on the kitchen counter. We had good intentions of involving Madelyn, however as seen in the photo, we just ended up giving her some leftover Halloween candy and a blob of frosting on a piece of cardboard to make her think she was really helping decorate the gingerbread house. I don't think she cared as long as she got to eat some candy.
Friday night we went to our ward Christmas party and Madelyn wanted to sit on Santa's lap. The whole time in line she was hugging my leg and acting nervous. Once we got up there, she sat down on his lap mesmerized that she was looking at Santa in the face. Then said in a really serious tone, "I want a bell" before he even said anything to her. Let's just say she's been watching Polar Express everyday for the last two weeks. It was pretty funny.

the girls look SOOOO adorable in their matching outfits! i love it!
Sounds fun! We tried to do gingerbread houses also with Erin and her kids...well I just did it and fed my girls candy so they wouldn't ruin it! I love the Santa pictures!
Your girls pictures on the sidebar are soooo cute!
Your girl's eyes are so blue, they are super pretty. Funny, Elsie and Addie have the same Christmas dresses. We must have good taste. Oh and cute Christmas card!
ha ha.....that makes me feel better about our gingerbread attempts. We thought it should be hard to make the gingerbread and cut it out. It took us forever and didn't match up at all, despite our best efforts. By the time it was actually time to decorate, the kids had found something else to do..."wash dishes" as that must have been more fun. Still worth it, but I'll have more things prepped before next time. And I love that they loved Santa. My kids are still terrified of him....yet still mesmerized! They are too cute!
